Horse Rider Performance

Coaching has been used for some time with great results in a number of sports – particularly tennis, golf, football.

There is a difference with horse sports due to the partnership between horse and human and how the rider can effect the horse’s way of going.  Not just in the competitive arena but for pleasure riders too.

Working away from the horse, coaching can focus on your unique and specific needs to improve your performance by working on areas such as focus, confidence and harmony – no matter what your starting point is.

Coaching will help you by

  • Improving self-confidence
  • Using the power of focus
  • Overcoming limiting beliefs
  • Dealing with procrastination
  • Overcoming fear
  • Dealing with nerves to perform better

Individual sessions can be arranged to work with you on overcoming barriers and achieving goals. Also group workshops to help you move forward are run on a regular basis.

Many clients are achieving rapid results where nothing else has worked using a technique which is painless, simple and highly effective. Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) could be the answer you are looking for.

Another technique used with great success is Time Line Therapy™ which allows us to remove negative emotions associated with past events. By letting go of limiting negative emotions and limiting decisions and taking the positive learning's forward you can then create a positive future with well-formed goals.

" Becky booked a session with me to help her prepare for the BAPSH (British Association of the Pure Bred Spanish horse) Championships at Hartbury College. She admitted that sometimes in the competitive situation she could lose focus and get distracted and then not ride with as much feeling and the horse would then not show himself to his best. So we worked on her being confident and calm and keeping focussed – whatever went on around her in the warm up arena or ring itself. Using specific techniques that Becky could use herself on the day. Here is what she sent me by email following the Championship: “Maximo VII was a star! We got 2nd in morphology (in hand Spanish style!). We then got the highest "dressage score" of 90 and the nearest one to us was 80. This meant we were Reserve Champion of our age group (5-6yrs) in the functionality (the in hand and dressage test as a combination). So we gave them a run for their money. The judges were two of the best from Spain. This meant we were eligible for the Supreme Championship which was won by the winner of my class! The judges then spent ages deciding between us and another but the other got the reserve - shame but it meant we were 3rd overall in the whole show! We had to work-in in a 20 x 30 indoor and there were 19 stallions so the mental imagery techniques really came into good use! We still have a lot of ring craft to learn but you can imagine what we will do when we have that!!”  "
